In September 2014 the three circuits of Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales and Erewash Valley will merge. Please join us in this prayer:
We remember how those who followed Jesus Christ, your Son, left behind the security of what they had known to go with Him.
As members of the Amber Valley, Derbyshire Dales and Erewash Valley Circuits, we pray for your guidance as we support each other to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in our local communities.
We pray especially for all those who have the responsibility of discerning your will for the mission and life of the future Circuit.
Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us, bless us and equip us.
We pray as we undertake this journey of faith, in Jesus name.
A Prayer for Guidance, Pardon and Protection
Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul
O my God, I trust in thee:
let me not be ashamed
let not mine enemies triumph over me
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed:
let them be ashamed which transgress without cause
Show me thy ways, O Lord;
teach me thy paths
Some mornings you wake up and your problems are right there
Maybe your car won't start. Perhaps you have had a disagreement with someone at work. You receive an unexpected bill in the mail and realise you have more month than money … what to do, what to do, what to do …
There is only one thing for it!
Time to ask God for help
You turn around and spot this note on the fridge
No idea how it got there, perhaps it is a miracle. Perhaps the whole of life is a miracle?
Thank you God!
In gratitude for all of your miracles
Indeed, in gratitude for You. Amen
This prayer was originally written as the opening for an Advent season worship service:
Father God, since childhood Christmas has evoked in us all manner of feelings: joy, excitement, anticipation.
But as our understanding of Christmas has grown, what happened at that first Christmas now causes us to stand amazed — that you, the sovereign Lord of all the universe would come in search of us, to relieve us of our burden of sin, to rescue us from hopelessness, and to offer us entrance into your presence and a role to play in the unfolding of your purposes.
Father, thank you that Christmas tells us just how much you have set your affection on us.
May we never take lightly what you have done on our behalf through the life, the death, and the resurrection of Him who became as we are that we might become as He is.
We offer our thanks to you in the name of Jesus the Christ, the visible expression of the invisible God
