Tansley Messy Church Feeds the 5000

The theme of June's Messy Church was Feeding the 5000 – also known as the 'miracle of the five loaves and the two fish' Our children were invited to fish in play ponds and make their own bread.

We welcomed 21 children and their grown-ups. It was wonderful to see some familiar faces… and some new ones too.

If you're not familiar with the story, here is a fun video David Brown shared with the children

And here are some of our favourite photo memories of the afternoon – thank you to Russell Lane for being our event photographer

New Life in Tansley as Messy Church celebrate Easter

Eggs and Hope in equal measure

Thank you to everyone who made yesterday special. We welcomed 21 children and their grown-ups after school, who joined us for fun crafts, activities, songs and supper.

We painted eggs – made chocolate crispy nests, yum! – coloured Easter crosses – put together colourful pictures of our favourite things – made a cave – sang fun songs – had a story – wished Richard a very Happy Birthday – and ate pizza and cake.

Here are some of our favourite pictures of the afternoon…

Messy Church Easter

Thank you to everyone who helped make it a tremendous success. See you all again in June!

Messy Church in Tansley

Today saw our first ever Messy Church. What FUN!

Not sure what, or who, to expect for our first ever Messy Church, we were absolutely delighted to welcome 24 children and their parents and carers this afternoon.

With a focus on Harvest and Creation, we were making miniature gardens, vegetable animals and people, vegetable and fruit prints, noise and outdoor art.

After an hour – which flew by in what seemed like ten minutes – the children went into church for a short (bible) story and some singing…. while the helpers did a quick room makeover and created a harvest laden dining room ready for our meal. Tonight we had wraps with all kinds of delicious fillings, followed by fresh fruit and yoghurts.

I could tell you loads more about what we did and the fun we had…. but they say a picture speaks a thousand words…. so here they are. The photos

A massive thank you to all of the children, their parents and carers for making Messy Church such a great success.

An equally massive thank you to all the organisers and helpers, for the same reason.

Finally a reminder that we are so looking forward to doing it all again with you on Wednesday 4th December, when the theme will be nativity based.

God Bless!
