This week’s news

Methodist Homes for the Aged – Thank you from Eileen Tutssel for your support for MHA which amounted to £120.

Prayer Request – Last week a young man called Blayze White was leading our morning worship and he is currently just starting out on the road to candidating for the Methodist Ministry. He was asked if he would like one particular church to support him in prayer over this time (about 2 years), and he has asked if it could be Tansley as he always feels welcome and supported when he comes here and knows that we are a ‘praying’ church. We feel this is an honour and have assured him of our prayer support so please remember to put both him and Becky, his wife, on your regular prayer list. The service Blayze took last week was a ‘vision’ service about ways of going forward as a church in our community. It was said that underlying all our endeavours should be prayer guided by the Holy Spirit so we are encouraging as many folk as possible to attend the prayer meeting which is held every Tuesday evening from 7.00 – 8.00 pm in the Brunswick Rooms.

House Group – Please note the earlier time – 7.00 pm. As it is the last meeting before the summer break, we will be sharing in a small Communion service with Colin and Adrian – all are welcome.

Food Hygiene training – Rev. Julian Penfold has planned this for Tuesday 6th August and will be an all-day affair.  He is only licensed to train 20 people so places are limited and 9 have gone already. If you would like to reserve a place please let me know by email as soon as possible.  The cost will be about £15.00 and will I hope be at Tansley Methodist Church, but I will confirm the final details nearer the date when all the arrangements are in place.

Intercessory Prayer – We hold before God all those close to our hearts: Barry and Sue, Hilary and Kevin, Yvonne, Chris, Dorothy, Denise, Elizabeth, Andrew, Lyn and Mike, Julia and Don, Anne, Helen and Brent, Blayze and Becky.

In the love of God, the peace of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
