This week’s news

Mission Service On Sunday morning 17 November our Mission Service will be taken by Rev. Colin Mark with the aid of his grandson Sam. Sam will share pictures and stories from his recent trip to Cambodia which so many church members and friends kindly supported through donations and by purchasing cakes and marmalade. His time was spent working with local communities, building toilets, planting trees and rice, working with children in the schools and conservation projects. Afterwards a bread, soup and cheese lunch will be served and a donation made to the charity of Sam’s choice – probably one with an environmental focus.  Please come and share this simple meal together.

Prayer Shawls Thank you to the folk who have contributed money for knitting wool or knitted a prayer shawl. They are being much appreciated by those who receive them and there is, apparently, a nurse in QMC who has come to faith through talking with patients who have received prayer shawls (not ours but a good encouragement to the knitters). Please let Chris or Margaret know if you know of someone who might need one.

If you haven’t yet seen the Fairtrade Christmas stall which Julie and Steve have taken over in Mary’s absence, make sure you don’t miss it – cards and lovely gifts all in a good cause.

An Evening of Jazz with the Russell Williams Trio is to be held at the Chapel on Saturday 30th November at 7.00 pm. Tickets are £5 and are available by emailing:

Messy Church will take place on Wednesday 4th December at 3.30 pm.

Intercessory Prayer – We hold before God all those close to our hearts: Barry and Sue, Fred, Audrey, Meg, Yvonne, Rachel, Colin, Elizabeth, Andrew, Lyn and Mike, Julia and Don, Anne, Helen and Brent, Blayze and Becky.

In the love of God, the peace of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
